OnePlus 5T renders leak, pairing rear fingerprint sensor with Galaxy S8 design It was recently revealed that the  OnePlus  5 is completely out of stock in most markets around the globe, including the US and Europe, prompting the smartphone maker’s CEO, Carl Pei, to admit that demand for the device has been higher than expected. Alongside this news has been  increased rumors about a OnePlus 5T , and while solid details remain slim, a pair of images of the supposedly upcoming phone have been leaked on China’s Weibo. The most noticeable changes are the relocation of the fingerprint sensor from the front of the phone to the rear, in turn allowing for much thinner bezels on the display side and an almost edge-to-edge screen. From the images shown, the OnePlus 5T looks almost exactly like an iPhone 7 from the back (minus the fingerprint sensor), while the front seems to resemble the Galaxy S8. On the other hand, these could be leaks for an upcom...

Japan Display seeks $900 million for new OLED production method, shares soar TOKYO :  A  Japan Display Inc  group firm aims to raise $900 million to mass produce  OLED  panels using new technology that will slash costs, a source familiar with the matter said - plans that sent shares in the  Apple Inc supplier surging 24 percent.  Display makers are looking at mass producing organic light-emitting diode screens with a lower-cost printing process and if Japan Display was first, that could help it catch up with South Korean rivals after long being a laggard in OLED technology. Its affiliate, JOLED, which is majority owned by a state-backed fund, has been working towards using the technology to start mass production of medium-sized screens for medical equipment monitors in late 2018 or early 2019. Reliance Jio’s Rs 149 plan now has unlimited data, but there’s a major catch

Reliance Jio’s Rs 149 plan now has unlimited data, but there’s a major catch Reliance Jio has made a subtle change to its Rs 149 plan, which offers users 2GB data in total. The plan now offers unlimited data as well, but there's a catch. Reliance Jio has made a subtle change to its Rs 149 plan, which offers users 2GB data in total. The plan which has a validity of 28 days in prepaid and comes with unlimited voice calls (local and std included) along with unlimited SMS (300 limit per day) is now also offering unlimited data. However, the amount of data at 4G speeds will only be 2GB. So what happens after a user crosses the 2GB data limit? Reliance Jio will still continue to offer free data on this plan, but at reduced speeds. However unlike other plans, where Jio reduces the speed to 128Kbps, with the Rs 149 plan the speed is reset to 64Kbps, which is really low. So technically you’re still getting unlimited data for Rs 149, but the speeds will be on the lower si...

Image
Reliance Jio voice calls limited to 300 minutes per day? Here’s the reason why Reliance Jio is limiting the number of minutes in voice calls to 300 minutes per day, according to some reports. Jio says the reason for this limit is to avoid potential misuse. This 300 minutes per day has been part of the Jio terms and conditions for some time now. Users would have noticed that Reliance Jio recharge vouchers come with the promise of unlimited voice calls be it local or STD. However, the limit stands at 300 minutes per day for voice calls but only in case of misuse, and this does not include international calls for which users have to purchase separate vouchers. In fact in Jio’s terms and conditions for its recharge plans, the company adds, “ This Plan is intended only for personal use of included services. RJIL reserves the right to discontinue the free Voice benefits offered as part of this Plan in case of misuse/ fraudulent use/ unauthorised telemarketing and comm...

Android 8.0 update: when will you get it?

Image
Android 8.0 update: when will you get it? The Android 8.0 Oreo update brings the next major version of Android to our devices, starting with Google’s own Pixel and Nexus devices. As always we can expect it to take anywhere from a couple of months to more than half a year to appear on phones by the likes of HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony, and Motorola. How soon your phone will get the update depends on a variety of factors: your phone manufacturer’s update track record, how new (and expensive) your phone is, whether your phone is unlocked or carrier-branded, your region, and so on. But, given past performance, we can draw some fairly accurate predictions of when you can expect to get the Android Oreo update on your phone. What follows is broken down into Android OEMs, based on how fast they got both Nougat and Marshmallow out, so just jump to the relevant section to see when the first Android 8.0 update should hit that company’s devices. (Note: As OEMs publicly...
